Our Story

Cultivating Local Roots, Aiming for Global Impact

Established in September 2023, the SWaYE Initiative is a nonprofit, non-political, and community-driven organization designed to focus specifically on women and youth empowerment.

Emerging as a strategic brainchild of the South East Region Economic Development Company (SEREDEC), we build on a solid legacy of regional socio-economic growth. While SEREDEC focused broadly on systemic investments across South Eastern Nigeria, SWaYE was created to zoom in on marginalized families, rural farmers, and clean tech startups.

The Challenges

Why We Exist

We address critical socio-economic vulnerabilities across the region through direct community support.

Youth Unemployment

High concentrations of university graduates face limited industrial opportunities. We bridge this gap with tech bootcamps and clean energy credentials.

Gender Inequality

Marginalized women face systemic limits on land ownership and financial assets. We organize them into high-value cooperatives.

Climate Vulnerability

Aggressive soil erosion and unpredictable rain patterns decrease agricultural output. We teach resilient, climate-smart farming.

Community Resilience

Communities require localized, self-sustaining models to thrive. SWaYE respond by embedding ownership directly with local leaders.
